Need help with Antenna

Postby violet94 » Mon Jan 14, 2019 4:25 am

I am using a Wandboard Dual in a completely wireless environment by running the device off of 5V batteries. I am continuously sending data at less than 1 Mbps to a router. I've noticed that after a few hours of use, my Wandboard loses connection to the router and I must power cycle it. Also, when the Wandboard gets more than 20 feet from the router or loses line-of-sight with it, I lose connection. I am thinking the antenna is not receiving enough power to continue sending data.

What are the specs on the antenna that comes with the Wandboard (power consumption, range, etc)?

Do these problems improve if you use a wall power adapter? If so, you may need larger battery cells. Not more voltage. I would put a large tantalum capacitor close to the board and use a rev D1 with the PMIC and newer broadcom chip. For the wifi specs, look at the Broadcom data sheet.
