MIPI Display via Bridge Chip

Postby weblar83 » Thu Nov 27, 2014 8:54 am

I'm interested in hooking up the Wandboard to a 720p (or 1080p) MIPI display, however most of these displays require a 4-lane MIPI interface - I realise that the i.MX6 processor only supports 2 data lanes + clock.

Solomon Systech manufacture SSD2825/SSD2828 MIPI bridge devices which take in TTL RGB (or MCU 6800/8080 signals) and spit out 4 data lane MIPI + clock.

Do you think this type of device could be utilised by the Wandboard to allow me to use these higher-res displays?

At present, I have bare-minimum Linux knowledge which is something I wish to expand upon when developing with the Wandboard (Android is going to be the operating system of choice for this application) and I appreciate that I'm probably going to need to get my hands dirty with code in order to get the above working.

Thanks in advance,
