Bluetooth issue

Postby thunders » Sat Dec 30, 2017 3:51 pm

Hi,

I'm currently building an image using yocto rocko for my wandboard REV C and I've got this error message when I load the bluetooth firmware :

brcm_patchram_plus -d --timeout=6.0 --patchram /lib/firmware/brcm/bcm4330.hcd --baudrate 3000000 --no2bytes --tosleep=2000 --enable_hci /dev/ttymxc2
option timeout with arg 6.0
option patchram with arg /lib/firmware/brcm/bcm4330.hcd
option baudrate with arg 3000000
option no2bytes
option tosleep with arg 2000
option enable_hci
/dev/ttymxc2
writing
01 03 0c 00
writing

writing
01 03 0c 00
received 0
select() returned error, errno=4
writing
01 2e fc 00
Read timeout reading nof_bytes

Do you have any idea regarding what's happening and how to fix it ?

Thank you

It appears as if the BT chip is not responding to the firmware.
Usually this is a serial issue (did you enable hw flow control?) - or that you did not power up the BT properly (there are GPIOs controlling power to the chip).

Thunders,

Which version of Rocko are you using? I have not been able to get Yocto 2.4.2 to boot on either a rev C or D wandboard. I suspect you may be using 2.4.1?

Thanks, Clay

Thunders,

If I am correct about the Wandboard BSP being broken for Yocto 2.4.2, then if you update from 2.4.1 using 'repo sync', you will lose the ability to boot because of SATA issues.

If you run bitbake again without updating, you should see the distro version:

TARGET_SYS = "arm-poky-linux-gnueabi"
MACHINE = "wandboard-quad"
DISTRO = "poky"
DISTRO_VERSION = "2.4.1"

If you could please confirm this, it would help us isolate the problem.

Thanks, Clay
