USB to Ethernet Adapters

Postby ckeef » Fri Aug 07, 2015 10:51 pm

I have the Wandboard SOLO, using Ubuntu 14.04. I am aware of the 1Gbps Ethernet port (and it works!), however I would like to have another Ethernet connection using a USB-Ethernet adapter. What are the supported USB-Ethernet adapters that work?

Many thanks,

Colin

you can look into you kernel sources for supported usb-ethernet adapter..

for example I successfully use Dlink dub-e100 for imx6q (kernel 3.0.101)
hw ver B1:

USB-based adapters can pose some problems. For the Gigabit Ethernet it may negatively impact the Gigabit throughput rate because of the USB speed. Without doubt the speed of the USB is slower than Gigabit, so when you use a USB NIC to a USB 2.0 or lower port, the full speed potential of the Gigabit is cut significantly- it will surely slow down your network performance.
