Wandboard Music Server

At the moment I am finishing a music server for my caravan. You can see the Quad board with a 1TB HD (Debian).

Nice!

What kind of user interface does it have? How is the song selection done?

I added a TB-Link usb wifi to configure the TB-Link (atheros) as access point. Mpd (Music Server Daemon) is the music server.

The interface is an iPad with MPaD to control the mpd.

As shell I use ServerAuditor (for maintenance and shutdown). There is no X running. I wanted to keep things simple.

I hope I can use spdif in the future to connect the unit to my dac (Audinst HUD-MX1). Now it connects via usb.

I added two diy buck regulators (14.4V > 5V) for the Wandboard and for the HD.

I compiled a new kernel based on Robert Nelson (3.12.).

The added spdif support works fine.

Bruno,

What is that case you are using there? I'm looking to make PBXs out of the Wandboard Quad.

I currently have all the software running and have it paired up with an Intel DC S3500 SSD.

Performance is excellent, I now just need a case I can put them in :)

TIA

Bruno

Which TP-Link model do you have? Do you need to connect the AP to a powered USB hub?

I understand what you are saying but I think there should be more comments regarding the threat that was initially started so that the pool of thoughts is attracted. Regards.

This new breed of music "appliances" constitute a step forward for music ... The more “mature” way to interface the music server to a DAC is through its USB interface. .... Are you getting I2S out of the Wandboard Quads
