MSQUEEZE - mobile streamer based on Wandboard

Postby delange » Wed Jan 01, 2014 8:38 pm

Msqueeze stands for Mobile Squeeze. It is based on CSOS (Community Squeeze OS) which is a community effort to create a Squeezebox replacement.
The idea was to build a small and flexible streamer with an internal hard drive. The drive holds a copy of my digital music that resides on my NAS. I use the msqueeze during traveling (business and pleasure). This way I always have my music with me.
Detailed information on this project can be found here.

More details at http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthrea ... ty-Squeeze

Squeezebox was a great streaming product with an open-source server and some open-source clients. At the time it provided excellent audio quality even in their low-end players.

It was purchased by Logitech and rebranded as SlimDevices, eventually moving toward a subscription-based server model. As I understand it, around 2012 it was discontinued in favor of their Ultimate Ears (UE) brand.
