OpenCL on Ubuntu

Postby ghostwail » Mon Oct 10, 2016 12:04 pm

So, I failed to install opencl on my wandboard with Debian. I though I'd just suck it up and run Ubuntu. Surely the official image should have opencl?

I installed clinfo and ocl-isc-opencl-dev with apt-get. Still no cookie. Clinfo gives nothing.

This should be easy, right? What am I doing wrong?

Code: Select all
$ clinfo
I: ICD loader reports no usable platforms

It looks like you don't have the Vivante OpenCL drivers installed in the kernel. You can not just install it with apt-get.

Don't assume that any distributions include OpenCL support for the i.MX6. You can only use the Vivante OpenCL or OpenGL drivers on Wandboards. I would start with Yocto, because it does have it.
