Ubuntu 14.04

Postby ArmFan » Fri Nov 28, 2014 10:45 am

Hello,

it is too bad we get no official image with current ubuntu. I search around every now and then, so I found this:

http://boundarydevices.com/ubuntu-trust ... mber-2014/
It is not for wandbaord, but generally sounds very interesting. Ubuntu 14.04, armhf and working GPU vivante drivers - even chromium browser acclearation. Maybe we can get it to work for wandboard? Do you think this is a good starting point? Unfortunately, I do not have time this weekend to test it. But by Christmas holdiday at the latest, I will try making it work for wandboard.

I post this in the google group, too. IMHO Ubuntu 14.04 with GPU working and ARMHF is what a lot of people are looking for.

Kind regards
ArmFan

I tried the Ubuntu 14.04 for the WB, but had issues with the UI.
Never spent time debugging it though.

If anyone wants the sd card image, I can share.

Yes, this would be great!

What issues did you have exactly? Maybe me and some other can solve them ;)

Keep us posted! I spent maybe a day trying to get that to work, but ended up side-tracked by other things...

For anyone else reading this: a reminder that Ubuntu 14.04 image is not a "supported" OS by any means, post constructive comments -- not complaints and demands :-)
