PICO-PI-IMX7 OTG power?

Postby tmatsuzawa » Fri Sep 08, 2017 6:42 am

Hello.

I recently purchased PICO-PI-IMX7 board for my next project.
As you can see, it does not have dedicated DC socket for power. Instead, USB-C(OTG) socket is there and power is taken from there.

I plan to use this USB-OTG port for data exchange as well and also plan to do host/peripheral role switching.
It means, PICO-PI-IMX7 need to be always fed power from USB-C socket and also do the data exchange.

Now, my question is, is there proven or known-to-work USB accessory charger or OTG cable or module that you are aware?
I think this is not a very rare requiremnet so having how-to knowlege wil benefit the community.

I may try buying some USB charger/hubs (that claims to be BC 1.2 compatible) for testing, but it has risk of breaking my boars, and also
such hubs are a bit expensive to try blindly.

I have used an Type-C to USB 2.0 cable without problems. Connect one end to an USB port on a desktop and you are ready to roll.
