I'm curious as to the amount of work it would be to port the imx6 version of openELEC (currently only for cubox i). I saw that there was a decently working version of the 3.14 kernel for the wandboard. I have never done anything like this and was wondering about the complexity of such a thing.

Also would editing the openembedded xbmc yocto recipe to get the newest version of XBMC (which supports imx6) be an easy method to get a xbmc build? I've used wolfgar's dora build but fell a bit short trying to get it to build under daisy (which I was aiming for as I have a C1 and daisy has wifi support).

Hello, I have take a look at this, and discuss it on OpenELEC IRC,

I think it's shouldn't be very difficult to add wandboard management in imx6 version of OpenELEC, but I don't have lot of time to devote to it.

The two think I have notice than missing in the imx6 build of OpenELEC are :
- the build of wandboard dtb (very easy to add)
- the management of wandboard in the u-boot version from SolidRun, or a u-boot version than manage Cuboxi and Wandboard.

My first test are available on my github fork in branch wandboard_support_wip_1 :
- ... port_wip_1

For information vpeter work on update imx6 project to add "TBS Matrix" support.

thanks for updating on OpenELEC for wandboard.

the guys at Lakka TV (an emulator console) have used openELEC to create their build for the wandboard (which works very well)

I'll take a look this weekend when I have time and report back.

I have tested Lakka TV on the wandboard, but not successfully booted.
But it could be due to the FullHD resolution wanted, and my Wandboard was plugged to a screen with 1680*1050 maximum resolution.

But I have tested Lakka TV on a Cuboxi and it's work great ;)

Hi @all,
I have found this thread about openelec support. I am very interested in, too. Actually I have running xbmc with a Gotham yocto image, but it is not very stable. Sometimes it freezes when I press the pause key or switch a movie...

My question is:
Is it possible to get the openelec running at the wandboard quad using the code provided by the posted github branch here? Or does it actually not work?
Do I have to simply compile the sources or do I have to adapt something?

I'm using fedora.

@Chris81T: the wandboard management is wip, and don't work for now. I don't have many time to work on it, then I publish my wip work to share work with other people, and to have help :).
@synportack24: cool, thank you for your help. I take a look at your change, but I don't understand how it's should work ?
I think it' should be necessary to manage different u-boot version for one project(imx6), or we should have a u-boot version who manage wandboard, cubox-i and matrix. But I don't know if this is easy.
If I correctly understand your change Update, you should change also the file projects/imx6/options, and your result are incompatible with Cuboxi ?

I also open an Issue on official project repository too help asking help and tracking update :
Feel free to use it to post your work, and ask thing to OpenELEC dev.

Edit: And great to see interested people, and people to help :).
