Kody 17.6 on wandboard working but...

Postby Booleano » Tue Apr 24, 2018 8:44 am

Hi all,

I recently got kodi 17.6 fully working on wandboard quad revb1. it is working pretty well ,
the only problem is that with some streams i get some perforamnce degradation so I wanted to test a different kernel.

The initial setup is official wandboard kernel 3.10 + latest geexbox image .

I tried both kernel 4.1.15, kernel 3.14.52, kernel 4.9 form official wandboard repository and configured with wandboard_defconfig.

unfortunately in all the cases boot process is ok, but i got kodi crashing

ERROR: failed to get egl display 3003

is there anybody who can give additional hints on how to fix this? or where to look to fix it?

I have been helping trunkz with an issue that may be related here:

http://forums.wandboard.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2300

The EGL driver is part of the graphics drivers supplied for the i.MX6 GPU.

Be sure you are using the full-screen version of the EGL (called fb) and not the X windows version (called X11).

Also, check that you have the newer Vivante OpenGL ES driver that supports both 2.0/3.0 and not just 2.0.

Driver installation depends heavily on the particular Linux distro and I assume he is rolling his own using open sources from the LibreELEC or OpenELEC projects for Kodi.

For Yocto it's easier because it's already configured by the machine recipes, so you just select the machine recipe you want with bitbake, for example:

bitbake fsl-image-machine-test
bitbake fsl-image-multimedia

Generally, you need the /lib/libGLES????.so files and libgalcore too.
