what is the best way to reduce the power consumption?

Postby zanoroy » Tue Oct 28, 2014 12:35 am

Hi all,
I have been playing around with reducing the power draw on a Wandboard Quad, I have disabled the Wifi and Bluetooth and video chips. I want to be able to record audio from the STG5000 chip, process the raw audio into LEAQ data and store that data onto the SD Card but I really really want to reduce the power draw to under 2 watts.

Has anyone played with reducing the over all power draw and have some tips for me?

I'm running Linux 3.10.17, with a slightly modified version of u-boot 2014-07

I would also like to know. The image from wandboard.org consumes very little power compared to a fresh install of Ubuntu. Why's that, and how I can reduce the power more?
