how to install ubuntu 16.04 on wb quad

i downloaded the ubuntu 16.04 sd card image and prepared the sd card using 16gb sd card the wb just wont boot and stays on no signal
are there any additional steps to be done before booting from the sd card
i tried using win32diskimager and also using dd command from fedora.

I have same problem as well. Meantime moving back to 14.04.

If you downloaded the D1 image from the downloads section, try the C1. And vice versa.

I just downloaded the new 16.04 image for C1, and flashed it the same way as I flashed my working 14.04. Still doesn't boot.

UPDATE: upon checking the SD partitions on my Linux VM I noticed that there were no flags set on the boot partition. Since my 14.04 boot partition has the lba flag set, I tried that and now the 16.04 image seems to have booted. No GUI though (not that I want one), but at least it is running and the kernel is 4.1.15.
