WAND-PI-8M encoding 4K x264 possible?

We are very interrested in your new product, WAND-PI-8M. We would like to use this platform to do the 4K video streamer based on linux distro with gstreamer and hw acceleration:

1. Obtain raw 4K video stream from the /dev/video0 (csi camera)
2. encode the stream with h264 or h265 codec, using the Vivante GC7000Lite - prefferably using gstreamer
3. Pack the encoded stream into RTP or mpeg2ts
4. Send to the web

Question is - will number 2 (encoding on vivante and gstreamer) be possible on your board?

The issue with this design is not with the board or the i.MX8. The problem is that there is no software support for the Vivante GPU to encode video. Video encode/decode is done on this platform by the VPU, so you must use the VPU APIs provided by NXP to do that. Also, you should look carefully at NXP's plugin support for gstreamer.
