Android Source and Direct Wifi, Miracast

Postby kerberos » Mon Dec 02, 2013 12:43 pm

Hi,
I followed below steps to download and build Android source.

cd /opt/android
curl https://dl-ssl.google.com/dl/googlesource/git-repo/repo > ./repo
chmod a+x ./repo
./repo init -u git://www.wandboard.org/android/manifest.git -m default.xml
./repo sync -j4

Getting error:

./repo: line 1: syntax error near unexpected token `newline'
./repo: line 1: `<!DOCTYPE html>'

Basically, can you please point me to where I can get source code for android, because git://www.wandboard.org/android/manifest.git does not exist. Or maybe fix instructions on your main or wiki page? Thank you

My goal is to setup direct wifi (p2p), and test miracast based on https://github.com/kensuke/How-to-Miracast-on-AOSP/wiki with WandBoard Dual/Quad. Any thougths or pointers on that way?

Seems like repo has moved to a new location. Again.

Use
Code: Select all
curl http://commondatastorage.googleapis.com/git-repo-downloads/repo > ./repo

for repo.

Going to update wiki etc.

I am trying the same thing on Quad. My specific goal is to make wandboard the Display (sink) device.
I have applied patches and run Mira4U application.
As a result I get
onCreate()
This Device Has Not P2P Feature!!
This comes from
file (P2pSinkActivity.java)
private boolean hasP2P() {
return getPackageManager().hasSystemFeature(PackageManager.FEATURE_WIFI_DIRECT);

When trying to discoverPeers I get
mWifiP2pManager.discoverPeers()
Wi-Fi Direct is OFF
try Settings Menu.

In Settings Menu->Display (either entered from Mira4U application or from Android Settings) I get
Wireless display is disabled because Wi-Fi is off.
WiFi is on and connected to access point.
I also tried when it is not connected.

Help, please.

The connection of Miracast is based on a Wi-Fi direct, peer to peer connection. ... Source and display devices discover each other's Miracast capabilities ... In presentation mode, Android now allows your app to display unique
