Still can't build Android for the quad board

Postby Billy » Wed Dec 16, 2015 11:26 am

Hi one and all, I've been trawling the forums, etc, etc about build problems with Android.

I tried these downloads from Wandboard Downloads - 4.3 source and 4.4 source and hit the same issues with each.
And I tried the suggestions of changing the jdk version I am using.
Host system is Ubuntu 14.04

So here is the final few lines of output
*********************************************************************************
make[2]: *** [gen_eth_addr.o] Error 127

I have tried from oracle jdk's
1.0.6.12, .24, .26, .34, .45
And of course at each stage I do the usual update-alternatives --install and --config.
And update the envsetup file for set_java_home.
All generate that same output above.
Can anyone who has been successful with either of those builds please help?
I've got no hair left to pull out - help.
Cheers
Billy

Hi again mindentropy,

I have now cleared the system and started all over again with wandboard_lp-5.0.2-ga_fullsource_20150630.tar.xz.
I downloaded openjdk7 so am now on java version 1.7.0_91
I also downloaded all other necessary packages.

I still hit the same problems with the build process.
My machine is Ubuntu 14.04 64bit

I obviously still have some setup issue as many others seem to be able to get android up and running successfully.

So any pointers would be really appreciated if you can think of anything.

Thanks
Billy

Great! Install lzop. It is a new compression stuff used to compress the image. It is not a java problem.

Do:
apt-cache search lzop.

If lzop shows up do:
sudo apt-get install lzop.

Hi mindentropy, first chance had to get back to you.

Great, that did the trick. So thanks very much for the feedback.
Finally can get back to the project.

Have you tried driving any of the gpio pins?

Thanks again

Yes, I want to control the gpio pins from Android using buttons on the user interface.

Have you tried that?
