does yocto 1.8 support Ethernet connection ?

Postby constant » Wed Aug 22, 2018 3:23 pm

HI, My name is soo.
I have a problem (Ethernet connection in yocto 1.8, wandboard quad imx6)
Problem is like this (yocto image is core-image-minimal version, device is Rev D1)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
root@wandboard-quad:~# ip link set eth0 up
fec 2188000.ethernet eth0: no PHY, assuming direct connection to switch
libphy: PHY fixed-0:00 not found
fec 2188000.ethernet eth0: could not attach to PHY
ip: SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such device
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I heard that this problem is fixed in version 2.2 (maybe ?).
But i have to use version 1.8 because of the compatibility.
Is there any solution to solve this problem?

Only newer versions of Yocto support the Rev D1 boards. I recommend 2.3 or 2.4 (Pyro or Rocko).
