VNC Server Auto Start

Postby ttwand » Thu Nov 24, 2016 11:31 am

Hello everybody,

I am using dizzy branch on yocto project. I have a QT5 app. I want to control my app remotely with VNC Server.
So, I added x11vnc recipe in my local.conf file. VNC Server does not run automatically at the boot.
If I run manually VNC Server, I can control my wandboard-quad remotely.

I want to start VNC server automatically on the startup. Please can you help me?

Thank you.
Best regards,
ttwand

You should create a runcom startup script and install it with update-rc.d.

This will show you how runcom is configured:
cat /etc/inittab
ls -la /etc/rc*
cat /etc/init.d/rc.local

Here is an example of installing a new script for the splash screen:
update-rc.d splash start 05 5 . stop 05 0 1 2 3 4 6 .

You can use the splash screen script as an example for your new script.
